Mini Grants

The LWHS PTSA is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Mini Grant Program!

A key part of the LWHS PTSA’s mission is to support and advocate for our students, staff, and families and to help provide opportunities and resources that enrich the educational experience at LWHS. Our grant program is one of the ways we put that mission into action by funding programs, equipment, materials, and activities that enhance the student and staff experience at our school.

How to Apply

Please fill out the application form below. All applications will be reviewed by the PTSA Grants Committee, which will then present funding recommendations to the PTSA Board of Directors for approval.

When preparing your request, please include all anticipated expenses, including tax, shipping, installation, and other associated costs. The amount approved will be the maximum amount available for reimbursement.

We hope to support as many worthwhile requests as possible; however, our grant budget is limited, and we may not be able to fund every application. Applicants will generally be notified of a decision within approximately two weeks of the applicable grant deadline.

2026–2027 Grant Application Deadlines

Applications are due by 3:30 p.m. on:

    • Friday, October 30, 2026
    • Friday, January 8, 2027
    • Friday, March 5, 2027
    • Friday, April 2, 2027*

Please note that the grant budget is limited, and funding may no longer be available for applications submitted later in the school year.

Before Submitting Your Application

  • Teachers/Staff: Please check with your department head to determine whether funding is available through your departmental budget before requesting PTSA funds.
  • Clubs/ASB: Please obtain approval for your request from the LWHS Activities Coordinator before applying.

Grant Requirements

If your grant is approved:

    • Grant funds must be used during the current school year. Purchases must be completed within 90 days of grant approval or by June 1 of the current academic year, whichever comes first.
    • Instructions for accessing or receiving reimbursement from grant funds will be provided with grant approval notification.
    • Grant recipients agree to acknowledge LWHS PTSA funding or sponsorship in communications related to the funded program, event, or item(s), when appropriate.
    • Physical items purchased with grant funds will remain LWHS property for the duration of their useful life.
    • Applicable school personnel will be required to sign the LWHS PTSA Grant Agreement following approval. Instructions and the agreement form will be provided at that time.

How Grant Requests Are Evaluated

To be considered for funding, grant requests must align with the LWHS PTSA mission:

To strengthen the educational connection between home, school, and community while serving as a powerful voice for students, and to enrich the learning environment for students, staff, and families at Lake Washington High School.

Applicants should clearly explain how their proposed use of funds supports this mission.

Requests that meet this requirement will then be evaluated based on factors including:

    • Creative or unique opportunities that enhance the LWHS experience
    • Educational and/or social-emotional growth supported by the request
    • Number of students who will benefit from the grant

These criteria help the Grants Committee prioritize requests that further the PTSA's mission and make meaningful use of the funds entrusted to us by LWHS families and the broader community.
