To our sustainability-minded students and families interested in advocacy:

LWHS began to participate in King County Green Schools Program in September of 2017. We were recognized as a Level One Green School in 2018 for our efforts in waste reduction and recycling practices, and as a Level Two Green School in 2019 for maintaining waste reduction and recycling practices while also engaging in energy conservation education and practices. You may already be aware that our schools Green Team was highlighted by King County Green Schools Program in the Spring of 2022. See the success story: Lake Washington High School success story - Green Schools program - King County Solid Waste Division.

The LWHS PTSA would like to engage the community in continuing this work together. As the school re-engages in conservation education and practices there will be multiple ways to participate. This week we start our visioning of a fully integrated sustainable school culture.

  • Student visioning session: Friday, February 10th during ROO A or B. Students can sign-up on FlexiSched under Quillin for either session.
  • Family visioning online session: Monday, February 13th from 7:00pm – 7:45pm
  • Families and Teachers in-person session: Wednesday, February 22nd at 1:30pm in the LWHS Library.

Stay tuned for more opportunities for students and families to help join in this work.
