We need someone to lead this kind of effort here at LWHS!!!!

Since 1972 the National College Fairs program has helped students to decide which postsecondary option is right for them. Free and open to the public, the fairs allow students to interact with admission representatives from a wide range of postsecondary institutions to discuss course offerings and majors, admission and financial aid requirements, college life in general and other information pertinent to the college selection process. Mark your calendar to attend on Friday, October 27 from 9 am to noon or Saturday, October 28 from noon to 4 pm at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle.

Is your student a gamer or interested in coding? The Washington State PTA is hosting a Game Development Competition to provide an opportunity for students, either individually or in teams of up to six members, to use their creative talents and express themselves by developing a computer game. Students participate and share their knowledge of computer science based on an assigned theme. Submissions are judged in the following areas: game of the year, arts and animation, game design, programming (code), and audio design. Award information for the five categories will be announced in December.
The theme for the 2017-2018 competition is Gravity.

All 2018 LWHS seniors are invited to the annual all-night Senior Party. Scheduled for the night of graduation, Senior Party is a way for graduates to celebrate with their classmates in a fun, safe way: alcohol-free, tobacco-free, drug-free, and well-chaperoned. This is a LWHS tradition, and it's a once-in-a-lifetime evening for our students. Last year we had close to 200 students attend!
College Application Workshop provides trained volunteers to assist with essay and personal statement editing every Wednesday after school (12:30) in the College and Career Center AND every Thursday during ROO Time (9:31) in the Bistro.
--Hey, where's the Bistro?! This space goes by many names...a favorite of ours is "Outside the Library", also known as "Upstairs Commons" and "2nd Floor Commons"...regardless of its name, that's where we'll be to offer support (and snacks).
Please encourage your student to drop by on Wednesdays and to use FlexiSCHED to sign up for Thursday ROO Time.
