All are welcome -- PTSA Membership Meeting Tonight!

Please join us on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 7-8:30pm in the LWHS Library for our next PTSA meeting.

Principal Christina Thomas will join us to present information and gather parent feedback about a "7-period day" being planned for fall 2018. We will also have speakers and information about the upcoming LWSD levies and bond. The evening will include a brief PTSA business meeting where we will elect a Nominating Committee and vote on whether our PTSA will endorse and support the upcoming levies and bond.

New Facebook LWHS PTSA Discussion Group

The LWHS PTSA has created a closed discussion group on out Facebook Home Page, designed to facilitate discussion and information exchange among the LWHS community. Prospective members must be associated with LWHS to join this group and will be vetted.

We hope this group will allow the LWHS community to ask and receive information and tips about school events, school supplies, resources, what to expect each year, homework advise, etc.

All LWHS community members are encouraged to join the LWHS PTSA Discussion Group. Rules for the group are listed under the description on the community home page.

Yes, there's still time for you to join the PTSA!

We've heard from several of you that you "keep meaning to join" the Lake Washington High School PTSA. We totally understand, there's still time, and we'd love to have you join. Our students benefit from a strong PTSA and becoming a member is the simplest way to participate. When you join LWHS PTSA, you:
  • Show commitment to our school community - a big motivator to staff, students and volunteers
  • Join the largest child advocacy organization in the state, the WA State PTA (and National PTA too)
  • Gain access to the online student directory and receive discounts to FedEx Office, Great Wolf Lodge, Wild Waves and more
  • Get to vote on key decisions that affect the PTSA budget, programs, grants, scholarships etc.
You can join online and pay by credit card or pick up a membership form in the office and pay by check. Thank you for your support, we really appreciate it.

Poetry Slam

The LWHS student Poetry Slam takes place on Tuesday November 21 at 6:30pm in the LWHS theatre. This is a spoken word competition and exhibition of student created poetry. Some students compete with 3 poems each and some just deliver one poem that will not be in competition. The Slam is open to the public, but keep in mind that all poetry is personal and will cover several topics, so some material may not be suitable for all ages.

The Slam will be $5 admission with all proceeds going to the senior class for their prom fundraising.
